Tell us your story.

I moved into the digital space after working in the publishing industry for several years. Working for a magazine was my dream, and I quickly realized that a great deal of the content was being consumed online. Before I knew it, magazines were moving their content (and advertising) over to tablets and digital was becoming a much larger focus. My passion for digital advertising grew, and I decided to shift my career path there as well.

What do you most want other women and young girls to know about being a woman in our digital culture?

I want other women and the younger generation of women to know that even if a position seems out of reach, or what you are doing seems difficult to grasp, never doubt yourself and always believe that you are smart enough to exceed even your own expectations! If you are your own biggest cheerleader, you will find that others will believe in you as well.

Pass it on!

I have been inspired by the strong women who have influenced me along my career path and always told me to fail fast and believe in myself - from my mother, to my first boss (who took a chance on me and hired me from a full-time internship). Without these women, I would not be where I am today!

The Women in Tech campaign exists to help redefine what women in technology means in the 21st century. Started independently by a group of professional women who, after many impassioned discussions about women in tech knew we wanted to expand this definition beyond 'traditional' technology skills. To us, it includes most every current, emerging or evolving role within an organization. By featuring leaders and emerging leaders across industries who embody this we hope to collectively 'stand up', be proud of our place in the digital world and inspire young women or those new to the 'tech space' to get involved.
